trust me imaginary friends are pretty dangerous... You better get rid of him now.... sooner the better. First hes gonna be really good and friendly and help you in everything and all... and then later when you can't live without him.. hes gonna ask you to do things that would keep you in trouble... Thats cuz he'll get attracted to you and he wouldn't want to share you with anyone else. And so he'll make you say or do bad things to your friends and eventually you'll be left without any friends.. so he'll be happy... He might even make you kill someone :)
I know it sounds crazy... but its the truth... he's gonna scream and scream and scream untill you don't have any other option left... so be careful... they are dangerous... its no joke... and hey... I know my english is bad so just ignore it lol

I just realized that I didn't answer your question... so I'm editing it..... try to ignore it as much as you can.... try and keep yourself busy... Always try to be around others.... and when you have to go to bed just call someone and talk to him till you fall asleep... ignore him for a while.... and then next time you ignore him.... ignore him for a longer time....... and then so on... But do promise him that you'd talk to him and spend more time with him when you are free (damn.. my english lol)
but you need to see a doc... phschychatrist or something (I can't spell it!!!) good luck :) make sure your imaginary friend doesn't read this. ;)

Well one time I went out to lunch with an imginary friend, then she got me drunk and abandoned me at a bar in a strange city. I ended up meeting up with another imaginary friend and she gave me a ride to a paralell universe. We hung out and partied like rock stars and the best part was in a paralell universe you start with a hangover and end up without one!
It was the best imaginary day ever.
Thanks LaKisha.

But why would you want to let go? Don't do it. Imaginary friends are the only ones you can really depend on to never stab you in the back.

Are people saying you're crazy? Don't listen to them! Listen to your truest friend. He will always be there for you.

Sanity is highly overrated.

Imagine he did something really mean to you, and tell him to fly his imaginary helicopter to never never land and not come back.

Try to say goodbye, try to use a ritual or cover it up, make it something you feel good about. And do it alone, because it can be painful and emotional. If you feel that you can't do it alone, seek professional help.

just take it out to lunch and have a long talk with it...

or go to some strange city, get it drunk and then leave it behind at the bar. :)
