Atchison, Kansas - if you are driving a motor car into the city limits, you must call the sherrif's office so that they can make sure everyones horse is tied up.
True story- this law was used to catch a bank robber who was fleeing police back in the 1950's. Atchison police had been notified that the car was coming it's way. When he came through town he was pulled over and arrested. He was then held until the other authorities could come over and claim him!
