OK, I got the details:

Precision Cinema Progressive. 12 bit/108 mhs Video Dac DVD+RW+R/-RW/+R/-R playback. It is a Sony.

What I see is that I put the TV on S-Source and usually it is a go. Somehow I have changed the program on the remote? The DVD then runs but the TV will "shut off" or a red button will show looking like it is shut off. The DVD runs but no picture on the screen.

All my DVDs are in limbo now just sitting there, and it is a long weekend. Any directions VERY HELPFUL!

Of course I can't find the manual and I did go to the Sony site, but no solution there that I could understand. One thing for sure...I will save the manuals from now on!!! :(

When all else fails: Read the directions. That is the reason they provided you with the guide when you bought the DVD player. You did not provide the make and model, so no one can guess as to how to undo your mistake.

You don't specify where did you press the wrong button. On the DVD or the TV?

If On the DVD, make sure you are not in progressive out mode.
Could be a button in the front, a switch in the back, or on the remote itself. (Sometimes, you need to go to the system menu, but if you pressed a single button, it is probably on the remote)

If On the TV, most probably you are in the wrong input. Make sure you are in Video mode, or the appropriate input.

All I can say is have a look in the settings and look for TV options and make sure that it is set to TV out.
Next time could you please post the model and make of your DVD player.
