While it's legal here to start mowing at eight, it's still rude. And people in this community, (nicknamed 'The City of Churches') really frown on it. I don't think ten is unreasonable, but there's no way I'd be out there before noon on a Sunday. :)
By the way, did you know that if you wait till evening (between seven and dusk is the best time) to mow, you're reducing low-level ozone emissions by not adding to them during peak traffic hours? Better breathing for all of us. :)

Yes. The old lawn mowing at 8 in the morning trick! lol. It's horrible! Before having children i would get really cross about it. Now i am usually up with no sleep in's anyway. Although that doesn't answer your question. I think a reasonable time to start making any sort of noise like that on a Sunday would be about 10:00am.

I was gonna say about 8 o'clock but then I saw the rest of your question after I clicked on it, I guess some of us are morning people and some aren't. Maybe 9 or 10, not sure. I realize that mowing the lawn is pretty loud - that's why I do it in the afternoon/evening.

Depends on the weather. I know here in Florida people will go out at 8 a.m. to beat the heat. Certain towns have noise ordinance laws, ours is 8a.m. till 11:00p.m.. You may want to check out what yours is and if a neighbor starts mowing before that , then you can call the police and they can make him hold off until that time.If there is no ordinance then there is nothing you can do about it. However, I too feel that 8a.m. on a sunday is rude, could have waited until 9.

i think if u r going to mow the lawn on a sunday
then u need to conside a few things
1. was ya neighbour with u and getting drunk last night ?
if yes the earlier the better
hangover would drive them nuts
2. could the lawns wait till a saturday ?
3 are the people next door up yet ?
i think it comes down to common sence
u shouldnt mow on a sunday
if u r goign to then do it after lunch
remember that karma is a B**I**T**C**H
neighbours will return the favour

I think 8 in the morning is too early - I sometimes forget that 8 am even exists! I would say anything before 9 is certainly too early....and if I can get away with it, I'm not usually awake before 10 or even 11.

Do you think 8am is a reasonable time to be on yahoo answers?
(lol just kidding)
It is too early to mow, yes, unless they are offering to do mines at the same time then I wouldn't mind.

after 10:00. There was a law when I was living overseas that you weren't even allowed to turn it on on Sundays and on Saturdays it couldn't be on before 10:00. Good law, good law.

If the Ox is in the Ditch get them out. I too think 8 am is early. They should at least wait till Church services are over.

Yeah, I guess that is a little early. I'd start at 9:30 at the earliest, probably not even that.
