Your talking to the wrong people. I served two tours there, 22 years in the Marines, and don't make my choices on a religious belief. I look at the war from the perspective that the terrorist are hiding in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, where they are "accepted and supported" and we will hunt them down and KILL them before they kill anymore of our citizens. They declared war on us, and we are going to give them every reason to die for their beliefs. Then God, Allah, Buddha, Muhammad, or the Whiz can sort them out, because it is not my job, my job is to kill them before they kill my fellow citizens, and I would hope that all my fellow Marines feel the same.

Well, if you ask me. I have no form of religion. I support the troops in Iraq and im not too clear on the war. But who is? There hasn't been a draft lottery yet and I am happy about that. No one is forcing these cowboys to risk their lives. They get to fight for the freedom that everyone else gets to enjoy and that is how America works. That's the obligation they put foward in themselves. You couldnt get every American that is against the war to change these guys minds. You also can't go around telling people we're over there for nothing because that means you're telling people their brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, uncles...and so on are dying for nothing. They died for your freedom. That's all anyone needs to know.

I've had a completely different experience than you. Evangelical Christians tend to support the Republican party based on their understanding of the US Constitution and its protections for freedom of religion and speech, but as to the war? I have heard Christians both for and against the war.
Christians come in many packages and shouldn't be over-generalized by anyone. They are in both parties.

I am not a born again, but I would prefer to be fighting in their streets than to have another 9/11, or worse, the situation in Israel where you don't know if the next bus your going to step into is going to explode.
The military is there to protect us from both of those scenarios, the media 'tells us' it's not necessary to be there but you think if we had done nothing after 9/11 the next step of bus bombing would not have begun? No guarantees, the attitude they have is to kept pushing. Their culture isn't "touchy feely why don't we all get along" either.

Maybe because they are idealists, who believe in honour, truth, and the rights of man.
Maybe because they believe freedom is better than tyrany.
Maybe because if the islamic revolution ever hits these shores, the first against the wall will be Christians and Jews.
Maybe because they believe in right and wrong, and that one should always do the right thing, even if it is the harder thing to do.

Nothing like yours...And BTW, I'm FOR the war (haven't always agreed on how it was being managed...but that's a separate issue). I'm NOT a Christian. I'm a retired AF officer...pretty much the opposite of the demographic you profess to meet.

my experience is i lived wtc two and al qaeda in manhattan..i feel that anyone who thinks the harry reid unilateral surrender is going to do anything at all to protect this society ought to have their head examined. i approve of defending this country and i think that pelosi spin has been around for so long about iraq that most liberals wouldnt understand the real problem if their lives depended on it.

From the solutions i've got study, I see the term "born lower back" skill a number of issues to diverse people. it extremely is the scriptural help from the hot testomony. The which skill comes from a communicate Jesus had with a member of the Jewish ruling council. Jesus replaced into explaining the adaptation between being born in the organic (born of water) and born in the Spirit. study John 3:a million-21 for the finished communicate. below is John 3:5-8 Jesus responded, "I allow you to be conscious of the actuality, no you may enter the dominion of God except he's born of water and the Spirit. Flesh supplies delivery to flesh, however the Spirit supplies delivery to spirit. you shouldn't be shocked at my asserting, 'you're able to desire to be born lower back.' The wind blows anyplace it pleases. You pay attention its sound, yet you are able to not tell the place it comes from or the place it is going. So that is with each physique born of the Spirit." BTW: "Born of water" isn't pertaining to baptism in water, yet to the organic delivery technique from the womb with water that breaks beforehand delivery. all of us could desire to be born for sure and then spiritually to go into the dominion of God. The word "lower back" refers to being born a 2d time - the 1st actual, the 2d religious. The delivery in the Spirit is as genuine by using fact the organic delivery yet is purely seen to people the comparable way the wind is seen...in the process the outcomes. the guy who's born of the Spirit is conscious it although. no one is born into the dominion of God by organic delivery (not the descendants of Abraham nor the youngsters of Christians). each and each people should be born by the Spirit into the dominion. "Born lower back" does not advise: - a transformation suggestions-set basically - returning to the church after falling away - reincarnation It does advise: - birthed in the process the Holy Spirit (John 3) - being made alive in the Messiah (Ephesians 2) - we are the youngsters of God by religious delivery (a million John 3) i'm hoping this facilitates sparkling up the confusion on "born lower back". I additionally wish you detect the actual peace that comes from being born Spiritually into the dominion of God. a million Peter a million:23 For you have been born lower back, not of perishable seed, yet of imperishable, in the process the living and enduring word of God.

I hate to say this but I have had the same reactions from people.
I think this is why many of the right wing conservatives have been for the war for so long.
Bush did say something like god told him to have this war.
Well that should be enough right there ( sarcasm )
I think if more people were spiritual then religious this world would be allot better off.
Religion has been the cause of so many wars.
I don't think that God would want this.
