There aren't really any black tights "in fashion". People just where whatever tights they like or feel comfortable in, which, from what i see, is mainly dark ones like 40 denier. It depends what shoes you are wearing as well. If it's black shoes, I would say where a high denier tights like 70( it doesn't have to be that thick/dark though). I would just go for the higher denier though. You're always safe with that. It also makes your legs look slimmer!!(if that's what you want)

The 70 denier are much thicker tights. A denier is the weight of the fibre used, one denier being defined for some obscure reason as 9,000 metres of fibre weighing one gram. Therefore in your 70 denier tights 9,000m of yarn will weigh 70 grams.

Its simple to see, 10 denier tights or stockings are the very light sheer ones that usually ladder before you get them on your legs! 70 denier are very thick, opaque ones that will not ladder easily at all.

all you need to do is look at the packets and you will see 70 is thicker. Most good stores have the denier on display . pop your hand inside and see the thickness
