A dream without an action is still a beautiful idea.
An action without direction is just that an action without direction.
Have you noticed a somber tone to this day's questions?
Hmmm.
I wonder sometimes what the little voice in your head is trying to tell us.
My little voice is yelling at me saying "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" but that is a story for another time.
If you little voice wants to continue down this line of question, try this question:
Why do people chase butterflies?
It is thought provoking and at the same time not so solemn.
Plus, everyone loves butterflies, or so it seems.
Oh, and the answer in case I did not spell it out was an action without direction, because people will look at that and say you were foolish for wasting your energy on nothing, while a dream you never speak about will cause you no ridicule.

I think a dream without action. If you just keep on "dreaming" of things you could accomplish but do not put action to the dream, then that is worst that putting action to your goals, without direction, when you act, even if at the beginning you have no set course, you are doing something and eventually will find the right way :)

I'd say action without direction. If you have a dream and never applied action to it you are probably use to and have accepted that inaction as just part of your life.
On the other hand if you are acting on something, what ever that is in your life with out direction you are going nowhere. You're scattered all over the place and are actually working against yourself.

Action without purpose or direction is just motion. It's meaningless or at it's worst, destructive.
A dream without an action still serves a purpose. Dreams allow us to act out anxieties and work through complex subconscious issues that bother us.

A dream without action.
Action, even without direction, is still action. A person is more likely to find some sort of direction while doing, than a foolish dreamer.
I am a foolish dreamer...

I think action without direction is worse. If you have a dream, but you're not currently acting on it, you can still start acting on it in the future. But action without direction is far more likely to get you into hot water.
I say decide where you are going before you start out on your trip. (Metaphorically as well as literally.)
