I was asking because I was just wondering.

On these boards, you never know if anyone is telling the truth or not. There are a lot of young people on the internet who think it's funny to be shocking. They think they won't get in trouble because it's anonymous, even though it's not really.

I don't think I would turn anyone in simply because I don't know if they're just fooling around.

Is there a "reason" for this "question"?

Truthfully, I would think that Yahoo would send the info to the authorities. One can't ignore that sort of thing - you become a person aiding and abedding, or worse yet, accessory after the fact. They have the ways of finding out the identity of the individual posting the info. With Yahoo being a private company, they can do just that. And the "confidentiality" clause doesn't extend to chat boards. . .

At least that is what I hope would happen.

I will answer by another question: What if Yahoo itself has already committed a crime, by giving bloggers to governments? It has been reported on the press that it happened in China recently.
To wonder what is the reason of creating groups and participating in them, not being afraid to express our ideas in public, when some new type "big brothers" are watching us constantly.
Being a new member in the group I had no time to explore the topics discussed so far. Some questions, in my humble opinion always, are completely idiotic or at least very superficial. Which are the favoured answers at the very end? The ones which continue religious fanaticism?
There are bloggers, who never committed a crime, however they are given to authorities, just because they claim their right to freedom and democracy.

It would most likely be reported, and be investigated by the proper authorities.
