Which happened first. Accepting big bang theory it would be easy to say that the cause of gravity is the primordial motion which began with the explosion, But it seems that motion can also be stated as the result of gravity. Please comment., keeping in mind whether it is possible to have gravity in the absence of motion, or whether it is possible for motion to exist without gravity being presesnt.

Stupid as it sounds...we honestly don't know what gravity is or what causes it. One concrete fact we have about gravity is that the more mass an object has the more gravitational pull it has. Magnetism plays no part in gravity what-so-ever. Magnetism is a much stronger force than gravity. Gravity has nothing to do with the rotation of a planet. A day on Venus is longer than its year and the gravity on Venus is still proportional to it's mass. The rotation of an object results in centrifical force which causes things to fly outward. Objects will always travel a straight line unless other forces are imposed on them. I wish I could give you some solid insight but even the greatest scientists in the world are still scratching their heads on this question. Usually the rotation of an object results in centrifical force which causes things to fly outward. Objects will always travel a straight line unless other forces are imposed on them.

Gravity is a manifestation of matter, motion and orbital motion is caused by gravity.
Maybe a photon could exist without gravity but no mass could exist without gravity.
So gravity would have to be a requirement of motion.

It's likely that all motion can be attributed to gravity. Not to say that gravity necessarily causes all motion directly, but it is likely that gravity was responsible for the entire chain of events that caused that motion. I can't, at the moment anyway, think of any cause of motion that can't be somehow traced back to gravity.

all objects atract each other
the larger the object the greater the frce of attraction
so the pull of the erath has its acceleration which is gravity or the acceleration of freefall 9.82m/s2

Good question. According to the theory of Relativity, all motion is illusion. It is due to distortion of time-space by gravity.

I thought it was accepted that the rotation of this planet is the cause of,what we call, gravity.the same thing can happen,as happened to me,with parachutists not getting clear of the aircraft, the moving mass holds you there(a truly moving experience)
