We can choose to embrace the idea that in order to achieve some of our long term goals, we must accept the daily activities required to achieve those future goals.

And, in order to be accepting of these present activities, we can assign a personal success level to them and enjoy meeting or surpassing this level each day that we engage in the activity.

Our personal success at achieving our daily goals, even if self defined and self imposed, generates enthusiasm and the competitiveness within ourselves.
