don,t get me wrong cos i am not either american nor play basketball, i play rugby. i just started watching nba cos of my friend who plays basketball. i just wanna know whats behind this cos basketball is the second sport i watch in usa beside their football which is almost similar to rugby.

Errrr... "The Miami Heat have dominated the NBA more then any other team since the 90's Bulls"? Really? The Lakers and the Spurs might not agree with that. As I see it, the Heat have two rings in the past decade, same as the Lakers and less then the Spurs. The Lakers have more finals appearances in the past 10 years then the Heat.

Mostly it has to do with socio-economic factors.
Young people are usually first exposed to athletic programs through their early school experience. Many urban elementary schools have no land for football, baseball, rugby, soccer fields, etc. But almost every school has a gymnasium with basketball nets.
A higher percentage of blacks attend those urban elementary schools, where basketball is one of the few organized athletic programs available. Once a kid starts a sport - especially if he's good at it and it's "acceptable" to his peer group - he will tend to stick with it.

They are the more athletic type. And NBA basketball is more on one-on-one plays, individual highlights, dribbling, dunking, showtime. And the blacks are built to play basketball like that.
The only negative is sometimes the Americans had experienced some difficulties during FIBA tournaments. FIBA rules are the opposite of the NBA.

They have to run from cheetahs in Africa. That's why there fast. The reason there strong is because they were slaves and they had to do hard labor. I dont no why they can jump so high?

i dont think your racist for saying blacks. that term is used by alot of people blacks,whites asian & hispanic around the world that describes people of african decent. the answer is simple. blacks r simply better than any other race cause of there better athletisism,speed & power.

blacks work harder cuz for black teens who continually gets oppress and discriminated basketball may be the only thing they've got.
