Spirit has the right idea. It is a case of over bleaching, and having learned through experience, the easiest way to return it to it former whiteness is to hang it in the sun. Make sure each side gets a good dose of light. I have a friend who uses bluing liquid, but I have always shied away from bluing after having done science experiments with it as a kid!

You used too much bleach, or left it in the bleach for too long. Either way the Chemical reaction of the bleach is what causes them to yellow.
You might say it is sort of like lightly chemically burning them.

The main ingredient in bleach is Chlorine in case you didn't know that already. That is also the main ingredient in Mustard gas. .

Either you used too much bleach or it was in the bleach too long.
You can try rebleaching it with less bleach to see if you can get it whiter or place it in the strong sun and have the sun bleach it.
