Jealousy is the greatest destroyer. And I'll make sure it won't be my shortcoming anymore.

There are, as someone else had said, professional approaches to this problem. However, I am no professional. The mindset I took on when I was younger was "Do what you enjoy, and you'll come to love yourself." That's partially true.. I'm definitely not the "normal" type of girl, and often do things way differently than others, but I enjoy it. Are you doing what you enjoy? Things that can be done by yourself. My thing is drawing.. Find an activity you can do by yourself that you like to do. Don't worry about anything else. I also find it a little hard to respond to compliments, but if you would liven up and be outgoing, it will get easier. I promise. Even if you don't believe them, act like you do. It will make them like you more, and you're bound to meet new people who like you. You don't have to make your information (birthday etc.) sound great, but what's the point in keeping it to yourself? If someone asks you, answer them. If you're proud of something you've done, why not tell at least one person? They'll be happy for you, and encourage you to do more. The process of gradually breaking out of your shell will most likely not be instantaneous, but just try it. It won't hurt to love yourself regardless of who else does. People these days, especially women, tend to compare themselves to others a lot. Sure, they might be pretty. Do you take a bit of time on your looks? As long as you don't do absolutely nothing and walk right out the door as you wake up (Which I'm assuming you don't do), there is no need to question your outer beauty. Personality is what counts. Give it a try. If you keep at it, and be more outgoing, you won't regret it. Hope I helped a little~

No.

If I did they would not be my shortcomings, they would be my successes.

I recently managed to chase away a good friend.

I blame it on me.

I never learn.

So no, I still have shortcomings.

That I have to love myself no matter what, that I am only human, not perfect, and that my mistakes show me the way to be a better person every time.

Bad news: I am not perfect like no one is.
Good news: I have a lot of room for improvement and betterment.

I have learned that we all have them! None of us is perfect nor do we have to strive to be! We just do our best and that is good enough!
