Firstly, every girl is different. I had periods that were that heavy and irregular when I was your age. I just lived with them until I was 16 when I went on the pill. The difference after taking the pill was big!!! I was still heavy but nowhere near as bad....they became regulated so I knew when to prepare and they always only lasted a few days. I wouldn't go on the pill yet if I was you since you're still very young, so unfortunately you may have to put up with this for a while. BUT at least you know you're not abnormal now!!!! You could still go to your GP if you are worried though. If nothing else they can monitor you for Anaemia.

Please see your doctor who will offer you a contraceptive pill to help calm your periods down, also they will do any appropriate checks just to make sure you are okay, its actually quite common for younger people who haven't been on their period for that long, to experience heavier period for the first couple of years, but as yours is so bad and disruptive you need to get some proper advise, medication is the best answer, I have dysmenhorra(excruciatingly painful periods but not heavy periods) and I simply had to go on medication and I still have problems with the pain as its like going into labour each month with the contractions, terrible, I'm on Mefanamic Acid but I think as yours is so heavy the doctor will recommend the pill, lots of Young girls use it with no problems so don't be alarmed, if wearing tampons and your so heavy you need to change them very frequently which is a pain in the butt, go see the doctor and lastly GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

yeh, my periods are long and drawn out and irregular. im 16. they come whenever they feel like it, and they go on for like 2 weeks, quite heavily.
u can go on the pill, or just use a hefty duty pad.
it's up to you.
but it's normal, don't worry.
sounds horrible about ur sats.
if i were u, i'd wear heavy tights and a skirt when something like that happens and u can't change ur pad regularly. put a pad on your normal pants, a pair of thick tights and another pair of pants over the tights to keep them up. therefore no leakages, no smell and no one will notice.
hope this helps xx

This doesn't sounds quite right to me. You need to see your Dr. I know you said you don't want to take medication, but you may have to in order to rectify the problem. Tampons wouldn't help anyway from the sounds of it, they'd probably end up leaking as well.

Go and see your Dr and get tested for PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) amoungst other things. And try not to worry.

Good luck.

Due to your irregularity and severity of bleeding, it would be best to see your family doctor and be referred to an Ob/Gyn. Your doctor will help you find what is best to help your period become regular and a lighter flow. I know you don't want to take any kind of medicine, but a low dose birth control can really help regulate your period without any bad side effects due to the low dosage. I hope everything works out for you.

If you're using a full absorbency pad and changing it that often, that is a lot. You should see a doctor for check up to make sure there isn't something else going on that is causing this. Good luck.

Hey there, don't worry this happens to a lot of girls. You really should see your GP or go to a Family Planning Centre for advice, they will be able to tell you all the options that are available to you, that way you have choices and you won't feel so alone.
