He will probably not get as much time in jail as he deserves. He is supposed to 'inform' on other dogfighting rings and if he does well at this, he is likely to have his sentence of 12-18 months reduced even further. However, it will be interesting to see if Poindexter, the bumbling DA in Surrey Country who originally was handling this investigation on the state level, will follow through with his promise to indict Michael Vick and his 'partners' for animal cruelty. If he is tried in VA he could get up to 5 years per dog he hung and drowned. On the low end, because he admitted to killing 6-8 dogs (he can't even remember how many???) lets say 6X5= 30 .... so he could be looking at 30 years in a VA penititiary. I like that!!!

The bigger question to me is will he return to the NFL. For on Saturday, Goodell suspended Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson, an NFL real good guy during his 26 years in the league as a player (19) and now as a coach (seventh), for five games and fined him a staggering $100,000 for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs. It appears that Wilson bought some Human growth drugs and steroids for himself. He openly admitted it from the very beginning, he had been told these drugs would help his diabetes and it was for his own consumption. Still, he was harshly punished by the NFL. So.... I think Michael Vick should be gulping about now. I do not think that Goodell will ever allow Michael Vick back on an NFL football field, as rightly he should never be allowed. If what I have to say about this and all my friends, we have all written and email Goodell and Judge Hudson, we will never have to look upon Michael Vick's evil face again in the NFL.

The "experts" on Court TV are saying that he is likely to get a year in jail and probation, our system being what it is he will likely do six months or less.
The NFL will sit him for all of this season and most likely ban him for an additional year as he will be handed a one year suspension which the league will not allow to run con-current with his jail time.
It is doubtful that we will see Mike Vicky play another down in the NFL, he was a great runner (should have been a RB) but after sitting out for two years and reaching the ripe old age of 30 with his past, who would want him anyway?

He is already being punished.
He is no longer Michael Vick millionaire pro football player; he’s that football player that plead guilty to crimes that he and most of you don’t really understand.
And the so-called moral clause in the NFL…what a SHAM.
JOKE would’ve sounded better but SHAM gives the true representation of the so-called moral clause.
There are criminals of all kind in the NFL and we’ll NEVER KNOW how many others have lied or are lying about criminal behavior that the NFL PTB cover up and make go away.
One NFL star is spoken of negatively because he fathers children out of wedlock while another NFL star is held up like a beacon to the world for having a child out of wedlock.
Vick should’ve been involved with drugs or murder or rape of a human being then no one would care. It would’ve been swept under the rug and the money-making player would traded to another team and still be playing for some team in the NFL and possibly even the same NFL team that he was a member of when he did his dirty deed.
Or maybe they’d do like they did after Columbine and Virginia Tech and say; Let’s see how we can study this situation to try and figure out how to prevent it from happening again.
The entire NFL PTB are making me sick.
And I find it very hard to believe that EVERY Caucasian football player is living a truly morally good lifestyle.
And those phonies in PETA.
They STILL make fur coats; RIGHT?
Where is PETA when horse owners politely say ‘put a horse down’ when what it means is KILL a horse that has broken a leg and can’t run anymore and the owner is not rich enough or doesn’t want to pay for the methods used to repair the horses leg.
And what do they do with the horse’s body?
Where is PETA when those in animal shelters politely say “euthanize” a dog when what it means is KILL the dog when they can’t find it a home or it becomes badly injured.
Be careful Black America; they still haven’t gotten over O.J.
Poor Mike. He’s just another nooka that had to pay and the timing was perfect.
What if they purposely waited until they could get Petrino to be HC and Joey Harrington to become available to quarterback?
They got rid of him while Atlanta is still good enough to make a run for the Super Bowl.
DON”T SLEEP ON JOEY HARRINGTON.
He’s taller than Vick and the O line shouldn’t have any problems protecting him cause he won’t take off running at the drop of a hat.
I know the receivers is gonna love him. He’ll give them a chance to show how good they REALLY ARE.
As far as the age thing with Vick; if they wanted to be fair and give him another shot in the NFL he’d still be one of the better QB’s out there but as one responder pointed out and I agree, Vick is more of an RB than QB.
Harrington is 29 in only his 6th year in the NFL.
Look at OLD MAN Brett Favre.
And let us not forget that dinosaur Vinny Testaverde.
I saw him the other night and he looks like he can still get the job done as long as the O line holds up.
How old is Vinny now? 80? LOLOLOL!

12 to 18 months in jail, but likely less time then that for good behavior. I personally think the NFL is done with him after this whole fiasco.

He will be sentenced to two years in jail - should be four to five. He will never play in the NFL again.

I predict that he will receive only probation and at the sentencing the judge will say something like "they're only dogs" and stir up a wild controversy. This would take the attention away from Vick and allow him to return to the Falcons in time to lead them to a 6 seed in the playoffs. Either that or a year.
