Because there is a purpose for each of us. The problem is not all of us are willing to find this purpose.
If only we kept searching it and never felt weary...we woould find it, nonetheless

In order to gather experience, whether knowingly or not, whether intentionally or not. Life just goes on imparting experience....... and who knows if death doesn't do the same too in a different 'world'?
