Sounds like one of the BS nonsense math courses that are offered to undergraduates now instead of the real thing. Don't waste your time with it, unless you want to become a hairdresser. The only way to know anything about math is to actually do it. Start with a good algebra course and progress to calculus. You can throw in a number theory course too for fun. Math ideas ain't no substitute for the real thing.
