The display for the HVAC controller in my apartment says "locked" meaning I can't change the temperature. Is there a way to unlock it?

Hello Jason:

Trane makes a variety of controllers, you will need the model number to find the correct instructions. If you can pop the front off of the sub-base, look for the model number on the back.

If the connection pins have numbers, it is a direct current controller. If it has R, Y, C, W, etc connection pins, it is A/C.

There may also be a "dip" switch on the back to change from locked to unlocked.

Press & hold the clear button. If that doesn't work, go to the Trane web site & order an owners manual.
