This may sounds ridiculous but the next time your local fisherman comes with fresh squids tell him to give the ink to you then out it inside a container and Viola You have ink.

Ink is made from a carrier (usually a liquid) and a collerant ( a dye or pigment). The simplest black ink is made with water as the carrier and carbon black as the collerant. In some inks, the collerant consists of very fine particles which are suspended in the carrier and in others (rarely), the collerant is disolved in the the carrier. To make black ink, you need very finely ground carbon, which you can make from charcoal brickets. Grind them very, very finely. Add to water. To keep the particles from settling out various additives can be used. A drop of dishwashing liquid to a cup of water will do just fine. Voila! black ink!. It will work fine with a quill or steel pen, but will clog a fountain pen. To help the ink dry faster, you could add a tablespoon of any alchohol to the cup of water. Good inks also have a binder to help them stick to the paper...a little egg white will serve that purpose. Primitive inks often used carbon from charred bones. By the way... your ink will be permanent and will last hundreds, if not thousands of years. Far longer than a CD.

The Romans used an ink made of soot mixed with water. The Egyptians made ink by mixing water, plant fluids and lampblack. These inks were simple to produce and use, but they faded over time. In medieval times, scribes started to use iron gall ink, which soaked into the parchment and so did not fade in the same way. There were a number of ways of producing this type of ink, but they all involved mixing tannic acids with ferrous sulphate and gum. The recipe here suggests the following ingredients: gall (growths on oak trees caused by insects or fungus), copperas or vitriol (copper or other type of ferrous sulphate) and gum.
