Yes they can be lowered but its gonna affect the handling charicteristics of the bike. (not too big of a problem if your not gonna be hitting the twisties hard though) You can also have the seat re-upholstered and have padding reduced to establish a lower seat height also. How tall are you? Do you have short legs? Im around 5'10 and i have short legs, but i seem to fit all sportbikes well (600's to 1000's.)
Im not sure what they could do with the stock suspension setup to lower it without too much compromise. I do know you can buy aftermarket lowering kits though.
Good Luck!

Yes and no. You can have the suspension in the front and rear lowered, but not a whole lot. The stock suspension can only be dropped an inch and a half, maybe if you're lucky two inches. If that isn't enough you'll either have to deal with it, or buy a lowering kit. A lowering kit will drop the bike several inches depending on which length you buy. Just go to your local shop and get them to order the one that you need, it can cost around 75-100 dollars for a basic lowering link. If they won't install it, then you'll need to find a shop that will, because the job is pretty intensive. At the shop that I work at, we installed a lowering link on a Yamaha R-1. I have a 27 inch inseam and after we installed the kit, even I could sit on the bike with both feet touching the ground. Hope this helped!

Nothing else however a sportbike for you eh? I am a brief gal (five feet). I consider quick gals on recreation motorcycles are harmful. Looks can kill, babe! And I have visible gals on their very so much tippy ft and heels, straddling a scrambler. I had been on a Honda CB400. It used to be fairly a achieve. An first-rate experience, however what a suffering to give up at lighting fixtures, crosswalks, give up indicators. On the CB400, I might choose a thinner cushion and get approximately one million". On the Ninja, I dont consider you'll get so much off the seat. ... Have any individual attempted a smaller rim whell. Less air stress within the again wheel might aid a few. .. however good day, what's a sportbike after its efficiency has been decreased? Anyway, now I experience a Yamaha chopper.

Dealers I've worked at, tried their best to accommodate new owners.
I've lowered bikes for customers.
Print out the page with your model of bike, or notify the dealer of the web site.

sometimes people shave down the seat in addition to this stuff.
get a two inch thick board, put it under your feet and see if that's OK, then spend an arm and a leg to get that.
I just remember my mom selling a sport bike, because a shop said they could do it, dug into the bike and said they couldn't. Not as easy as going in and cutting springs you know.
