No, I feel the same way about being safe on the streets as I did 10 to 15 years ago. Nothing changes around here, which I am extremely grateful.

Probably not but only because i am older now and less prone to intimidation, i am 36. If i was the same age now as i was 15 years ago, and in today's society, then yes i would feel less safe and this is all due to lack of discipline and today's society being a bunch of do-gooders who insist that you cannot punish children and cannot protect yourself against violence, or you, as the victim, can end up the one prosecuted, it makes me sick. However, i am lucky as i live in a relatively safe area and would feel differently I'm sure if i lived in a city.

Well, I first got mugged when I was 17 in 1983 when I was on my way back from a nightclass .... Well, I say 'mugged', the poor lad DID try; I've never been successfully mugged yet.

I feel quite safe, I'm five feet ten and 19 and a half stones (those of you who have been following this may note that the weight has in deed fallen again). I must look quite intimidating.

However, my more petite 'sisters' may not have the confidence I have.

I feel more safe on street now in day times and more unsafe in night times nowadays than I did feel before 10-15 years.

As the Police have become more responsive and strict to traffic rules than they were then. This adds to road safety more for pedestrians

As the Criminal minded teenagers , goons are finding new ways of looting, attacking, hurting, even abducting and raping due to advanced technological gadgets used by them such as Availability of drugs, guns, faster vehicles, Mobile phones, Internet anonymity, they have refined their way of working and Networking.

I left the UK 5 years ago, I went back for a holiday at Xmas and I can honestly say, I felt very unsafe indeed. My husband (he's Greek and we live on a Greek island) insisted on carrying all our money on him at all times, as where we live you can do that. He had no comprehension of how dangerous it was to do that in the UK, and thought I was exaggerating about the crime. I made him watch the local news every night, soon changed his opinion!!

No because 15 years ago I lived in Nottingham and there were regular attacks and assaults on my friends. Now I live elsewhere and I never get any trouble

I live 11 miles outside leeds. Generally I do feel safe, but I worry for my kids.

Sort of... you've not really got any chance when confronted by 2 or more drunk/violent "i'll never get caught for my actions" young scallies, desperate cash seekers, or "lets have a good night by bashing up this person who is walking past us alone"... kinda people.
