It is hard to say because there are different definitions of power. The LHC is a good candidate:
The LHC can also be used to collide heavy ions such as lead (Pb) with a collision energy of 1,150 TeV.
The size of the LHC constitutes an exceptional engineering challenge with unique safety issues. While running, the total energy stored in the magnets is 10 GJ, and in the beam, 725 MJ.
Also a hydrogen bomb is a good candidate, too but comparing the LHC to a hydrogen bomb is comparing apples to oranges. Hydrogen bombs emit a large amount of energy in a very short amount of time.
A hurricane puts out more energy than any other natural or man-made phenomena I know of. As far as energy output per second, it probably still beats a hydrogen bomb.

In the big scheme of things, the most powerful thing in the world is WATER - if you have doubts, check out the Grand Canyon and other natural features formed by, or the magnitude of disasters caused by, good ole H2O.

Many answerers have given answers relating to various phenomena or abstractions. The question relates to 'thing'. The implication is a material substance that can be felt by one or more of the five sensory organs.
Viewed from this angle, selection of any material has to be by comparison with others. By law of physics, in a state of rest, every material body can have only potential energy, which too will vary according to the laws of proprtionality related to mass and height. So, no absolute 'power' can be invested in any material body or object. In a state of uniform motion, for the motion itself the source of power is apart from the object and hence no absolutism of power to either, and hence even in kinetic energy absolutism of 'power' is extinct.
So, by logic, I would submit that there is no 'powerful thing' in this world.
The natural law that governs the orderliness and symmetry in all the phenomena, that is given the nomenclature of Dharma, can be said to be 'powerful' in absolutism, but it is an abstraction.
