As TV Guy noted, I have heard that some people will put the TWO TV into seperate rooms and each can be viewing a different channel than the other. The only issue with this is that the room with the DVR has to change the channels out there. You would not be able to do it from the same room.

The reason that Dish Networks DVRs work this way is due to Patent Infringement by using Tivo's patented Technology, so they had to make the DVRs ONLY connect to two different TVs.

Nope, unless you happen to have a multi-room receiver that some companies offer, where theres 1 receiver, but 2 separate tvs, and they can be on 2 separate channels.

But dish has a dual tuner receiver, so you can watch two different channels in two rooms with one box.
