USC's lackluster 38-10 win over powerhouse Idaho? (note required a couple 4th down conversions to run it up even that high although that catch in the endzone was off the chart)
Texas limping past a nobody Arkansas St team
Auburn being shut down and outshined for 3 1/2 quarters
Oklahoma St's Vaunted Offense getting shut down @ Georgia
Notre Dame... well lots I could say here not much good though
obviously Michigan is the biggest they did become an answer to a trivia question (Who is the only top 10 team to ever lose at home to a 1-AA school? lol).. just in my eyes it seemed as though alot of teams were less than spectacular

yea I didn't really want to add V Tech.. they had that whole emotional thing before the game and all and no way their minds could be into it

to the person referring to himself as "Fight On!" I can explain why people hate USC.. and not be accused of jealousy.. Steve Spurrier... make sense.. didn't think so.. at home USC on 4th and 2 (TWICE) while up by 4 touchdowns GOES for it on the Idaho 20 instead of kicking a field goal and moving on.. and throwing play-action passes in the 4th? c'mon tell me they weren't trying to get points up there to "look good for the voters".. THAT is a Steve Spurrier move from back when he was with Florida.. and yanno I personally think Alabama even looked better on the field.. Booty for heisman? ha most of his passes went sailing over peoples heads.. I only saw him actually complete like 3-10 (watched the 3rd Quarter and honestly it was boring football to watch)

1st I am a true fan.. I just don't like the fact that USC played nobody and then when they aren't capable of blowing them out straight up they resort to going for it on 4th and 2 at the 18 yard like.. newsflash.. thats a 35 yard kick.. simple for a collegiate Kicker.. that is an attempt at running the score up and blatantly so

Sorry to say this but Idaho is not the powerhouse, BSU is Idaho's state powerhouse Football program, it would of been different if they had played BSU.
I expected more from Texas though.
Notre Dame I agree with you.
Michigan though man that is like I dont know how to explain it Michigan was sure a dissapointment.

Michigan. No question. First time a I-AA has beaten a ranked I-A team. Appalachian State, a complete unknown, defeated preseason #5 Michigan, who returned three potential Heisman candidates on offense -- Henne, Manningham, Hart. And they beat Michigan at home in front of 100,000! It is definitely the most embarassing loss in the school's history.
The second biggest disappointment was Notre Dame. They played awful against Georgia Tech. After all the speculation and mystery surrounding his choice for starting quarterback, coach Charlie Weis picked Demetrius Jones who played worse than their two backups. Weis even brought out Jimmy Clausen, his much heralded #1 quarterback recruit, tainting him as well in the humiliating loss. The sad thing is Notre Dame's schedule only gets tougher over the next few games!
USC and Texas were not very interesting to watch. USC soundly defeated Idaho, and only by USC's standards can such a lopsided victory seem like a disappointment. It was obvious by the end of the game they were simply trying to give many different running backs / receivers playing time to get a sense of how they performed under pressure. Texas, meanwhile, led most of their game and only gave up alot of points in the fourth quarter. I expect both teams will improve in coming weeks.

My vote is for USC. Idaho truly stinks and they were playing at home and they're supposed to be this juggernaut that's just going to roll over people this year, I wasn't impressed. Texas limping past Ark. St was also embarassing, but I don't think they'll be able to hang with Oklahoma this year anyway. I'm not that suprised about Auburn, K-State's pretty decent and Auburn isn't ranked that highly, expected to only finish 2nd in the SEC West.
I expected Georgia to beat Ok. St., so that wasn't suprising. Nortre Dame was suprising, that puts their coach on the hot seat for sure (I'd argue he's in more trouble than Carr), but they're not even ranked and G-Tech is a pretty good team.
And of course Michigan is the easiest choice, that will be the most embarassing loss by any major team this entire season.

Michigan... but not because they lost to a Div 1-AA team, but because they lacked fundamentals on defense and at key moments.
1. They were horrible with open field tackling, picking low cut routes to the ball and just getting burned... if they played a big time school today they woulda lost like 60-24
2. Does Lloyd Carr know how to defend a spread offense? I will tell you that a 7 man blitz on a 5 receiver spread will never do nething...
3. On fg kicking all you have to do is hold your position and slow the oncoming pressure, not leave a wide open whole by stuffing an inside guy... seriously is the outside blocker supposed to take on 2 kick blockers?? really now
P.S. They aren't the only top 10 team to lose to a 1-AA team... theyre the only RANKED team (1-25) to lose to a 1-AA team

once again your ignorance shines brighter than the sun.
1) USC did not play its starting #1 WR, #1 RB and #1 C...side note...USC did start a true freshman at center and he played the entire game. the first time in school history a true freshman started at center.
2) USC played, literally, evrey player on the defensive aactive roster. if thats not smart coaching i dont know what is. now EVERY player has game experience. when youre up 21-0...does it matter if you win 70-0 or is it better to get your back ups playing time??
3) reserves played the majority of the 2cd half
4) do you really think USC is gonna open up the playbook for NE to see against Idaho??? come on man, please dont tell me youre that football illiterate.
hope you enjoyed AUs game from your couch. i sure loved watching my Trojans win in The Colesium.
oh, how did you like the TENN CAL game???
*****
your brilliant football mind thinks its best to attempt a 55yd+ field goal on 4th and 2 instead of just going for it knowing your d will stop the other team if you dont get it?? and 4th and goal on the 2, why not try for a TD???
1st a 28 point victory wasnt enough...now going for it is running up the score...so which one is it??? will anything outside of the SEC ever be good enough??? its too bad youre not a true college football fan.

I had no doubt that Notre Dame was going to get smoked. Kansas State beat Auburn on their home field for all but the last few minutes :(
I was worried about OSU because high octane offense doesn't usually show up for the first few weeks. Going into Athens, Georgia is not the best place to start out! Everyone but the northeast-coast biased media knew that Michigan sucked. The people who ranked them that high should be brought up on charges! There is not a team in the country that could have beat Oklahoma today! Can a freshman QB keep that up? (That defense reminds me of the one that shut Florida State out in the 2000 title game!)

Well being a USC fan, it's hard to watch that USC game against the Mighty Idaho Vandals. USC just didn't bring their A games at all, horrible to say the least. But your War Eagles look like a little pigeon, not Eagles. But the Mighty Michigan and their fans should not show up on this site anymore, after they lay that EGG against the Appalachian St. Please Big Blue fans, i don't want you to post any question on this site until next year, you guy got nothing to say, but to make a fool out of yourself, if you do.

Texas. They were supposed to win big but only won by 8 points. USC also because everyone was talking about getting like 75 points against Idaho. Auburn was not really disappointing because they won and Kansas St is a good team. Everyone knew Notre Dame was going to sucks.

Your right Michigan was obviously the biggest disappointment, but in my heart it was almost Auburn.
Actually Auburn just happen to play a good team that almost beat them at their own game,,,,,defense....KSU deserves a lot of credit playing on the road at Auburn that way.But I do not think Auburn has it this year.Their Offense is terrible.Cox will not last long behind this O-line Auburn has.LSU,Georgia, and Florida will feast on them.Alabama,Arkansas, and So.Florida may do the same.Maybe Auburn and Notre Dame can play each other in a bowl.

I think you left Virginia Tech off the list.
Granted, they've been through a lot (God bless them...), but they should have scored more against a valiant but outgunned East Carolina squad.
Had it not been for that terrible throw by the ECU QB in the second quarter, Va Tech may have lost.
But I think most of the top 25 was either playing a patsy or struggling to get into top form.
