Hmmmmm......that's a tough one. 99.9% that I'll love you forever or 100%. You choose.
0.1% may seem like a minute difference but it can make a world of difference. If you're proving something scientifically or mathematically, 0.1% could be the difference between proof versus theory. But if you're talking about alcohol percentage, I don't think it makes too much of a difference.
*Wonders if he was knocking back the 99.9% or the 100% when he asked this.* For the Guy family's sake, neither. We like him better sober! Does this answer your other question about alcohol affecting your soul? ;0)

99.9% of the world's population leaves out 6.5 million people.
99.9% survival rate means 1 in a 1000 won't survive.
99.9% fat-free means there some fat present.
99.9% of the speed of light is pretty darn fast. 100% requires an infinite amount of energy to reach.
99.9% accuracy of a hand grenade toss will still do the job. 99.9% accuracy of an ICBM will miss by a few kilometres, but will still be close enough to do serious damage.
However, just in case it is NOT a typo, the actual difference between 99.9% and 100 is 99.001 as 99.9% = 0.999.

I would rather be 99.9% dead than 100% dead. It is literally the difference between life and death. In truth it depends on what you are talking about.
How would you feel if you asked your boyfriend/girlfriend what percentage of their time they we faithful to you and they said 99.9% of the time as opposed to 100%?

Very unfortunately, the area in which this Difference affects is the most valuable aspect of human life !
Great Masters have been emphatically stressing that in spiritual path, anything below 100% is as good as (or as bad as ) 0 % !!
Only in material aspects of life, the difference affects the benefits proportionately. Only that competitive areas like entrance exams , selection procedures etc insist on 4th or 5th decimal places to differentiate !

0.1% looks so small, but if we needed 100% of a medicine, but only got 99.9% and still have to die, then It would be a big deal.

It totally depends on context. If 99.9% of bottle caps are good, the bottler will be happy. If 99.9% of imbedded defibrillators are good, people will die.
