I know the Irish won't do good this year, and it breaks my heart to say that, but I say just put the Freshman in, what do you have to loose. Also, why is everyone making a big deal about the Michigan loss. App. St is a 2 time defending National Champ and isn't the only difference between their division and ours is the size of the school? Does that mean small schools can't be good? Some small schools have awesome teams and get no credit what so ever. I bet Mount Union could have beat most Div 1 schools too, so Michigan lost to the top ranked team who will win yet a 3rd championship in a row this year, it will just make Michigans loss to Notre Dame in two weeks not that bad then since they already did.

After the debacle with Georgia Tech, Weis, the offensive fatass genius, better realize that Jimmy Clausen needs to start NOW...He played the best and will only get better...and the home crowd cheered him on when he came in...Its not rocket science...Jimmy Clausen should be the starting QB...NOW...or its Weis' fatass at the end of the season if they have a losing record...They can still go 8-3, losing to Michigan and USC...They should beat everyone else...

I understand what you're saying about App State, but this is a monumental upset. 1-AA (or Championship Subdivision) teams have NEVER pulled off a win like this, and many teams (some former champions) have tried.

App State is a very talented football team, but this result, considering Michigan being who they are, is still surprising.

To answer your question about Notre Dame, does it really matter who the starting QB is? The offensive line is downright horrible and whoever is playing under center can look forward to looking up at the blue sky and bright lights.

I agree, just put Clausen in and get him experience for next year. The other two have too many flaws that showed today. Jones cant throw or run really well and Sharpley cant move 5 ft. But honestly first things first, recruit better linemen b/c they couldnt pick up blitzers or their own blocking assignments.

Jimmy Clausen. He was fine yesterday. Not a good idea to rotate three quarterbacks. I think he will be great for Notre Dame but you have to put him in there and leave him in there and let him prove himself. He can and will lead this team.

Well, Division 1AA schools don't exactly get the top recruits in the country... also, no 1AA team has ever beaten an AP ranked team... ever... nonetheless a top 5 team.

And stick Clausson (sp?) in. This team is in transition. Might as well give the kid a go.
