Depends on if you are religious or not. Religions have your purpose already decided for you in most cases. To be the best you can be and follow the teachings of the bible for example.
If you are not religious, then i believe you and you alone can make a purpose or you havent found it yet. You may not realize it, but you already have a purpose for life... otherwise you would be dead.
Find things that you like to do and make you happy. Theres your purpose.

we didn't chose to be in this world, we were drop out of nowhere not knowing where to go and what to do, but then we manage to cope up with the things around us. man started to create systems which would in a way help or guide those who would come before them, just like us. so in answer to your question, the determination of ones purpose in life is greatly affected by the systems which has been established before us but in a way unique than that of those other lives which came before us. when it come to the determination of ones purpose in life i think there is a certain time when we have to decide on how are we to live our lives. furthermore having a purpose in life is much on my own point of view exciting that a life without a purpose.

You know, I'm not to sure if someone's purpose is to be "determined." I think one's involvement/impact on the world and others lives is what gives us the sense of purpose.
Really, just being yourself is your purpose. You yourself can't determine your purpose. You only surve a purpose in other people's lives, like your friends and family have purpose in your life.

I'm 21, and have found out that making peoples lives for the better(helping others, etc.) and making people happy(smile, laugh) is my purpose in life. And I am damn proud to have that gift :)

Isn't the primary purpose to survive -- if at all possible into some better place than this system of things.
Yep, survival of the fittest through faith in Christ and his God.

If you're lucky you will never know your purpose because you will be constantly changing your interests and ideas about life.
