Well you could get carpal tunnel syndrome from the repetitiveness of the typing, and sitting in the same position all day is not good for your physical health. My advice is when you are not at work get exercise (it doesn't have to be a lot, just afternoon walks a couple times a week) so that your body has a full range of motion. If it keeps getting worse, go to a doctor. It could be from something other than work.

You can get tired of sitting in the same position, suggest that you walk around the room a couple of times and resume your work, but I dont think that you will catch an 'illness' from working as a dispatcher.

well, inertia. If you do not move much all day then yes, when you do move your muscles will be sore. also, you can develop blood clots if you are sitting in the same position all day, 5 days a week, and those can actually kill you, but it is fairly rare. Also, carpol- tunnel for your typing hands...

carpal tunnel and muscles tightness in the back can happen...also headaches from staring at the screen all day.
try asking this in the health section they might know too.
symptoms don't really sound computer related to me (I got my MD from Kmart, lol) could be lifestyle related or something hereditary.

I get the same pain -- I think it's from poor posture combined with a bad chair. We should both see a doctor, though.

Carpal tunnel syndrome. Not real fun, affects the nerves in your hands and wrist.

Not that I know of sorry, breath in and out deeply, it might be a cramp from taking small breaths. Go contact your doctor if it gets to be that serious.
