Yes, nuclear testing was conducted in the desert in New Mexico, but not nuclear bombing in the sense of dropping the device from a plane. Most testing was conducted underground, but some tests were conducted by placing the device on a tower and remotely detonating it.

I know they did nuclear tests in the New Mexico dessert and only there because after the bikini island incident (where they found out about the radiation) they tried to control the fall out and the radiation caused by the nuclear bomb. So yes, they did

They developed the bomb at Alamagordo. And the Trinity test of an atomic device detonated on a tower was done in July of 1945. Other atmospheric and below ground detonations of atomic weapons were done at the Nevada Test Site, about 90 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Hey wooot, you got it bass ackwards. We use to detonate in New Mexico and Nevada, but then moved it to the Pacific.
