Canada is it's own country. It's not part of the United States. It has what they call provinces, that are like our states. It is neither a state or a territory but it's own country like Mexico, England, France etc.

What !?

Canada is a sovereign nation that happens to share a border with the United States. Do you also think that Mexico is a US state or territory?

This question was obviously a political satire.

I'll use an analogy:

Think of a 1930's gangster movie. Canada would be one of the guys saying, "Yeah boss, what eveh you say!"
While the big Crime Boss (The USA) is sitting back saying, "Yeah I own this town, see, and nobody can do nuthin about it..."

Ouch, I do hope you are not familiar with Canada as this will definitely offend them.

Canada is it's own country, thus not part of the US in anyway.

Canada is a country in its own right. it is not a super power as the U S A and its strengths in the world are more subtle. the two countries are allies in the free world and we are all thankful for much that we have collaborated on.
