No...in fact many men are in jail for statutory rape because their underage girlfriend wrote about the relationship in their diary! The 5th protects you from answering questions in court that will incriminate yourself.

i dont know...but one of my friends went through my school diary (i have some kinda private stuff in there..?) and left comments on random pages ... they were nice comments though so i didn't really mind after that.. but at first when i found out what she had done I was really annoyed as, well, i think it's an invasion of privacy ... she read my diary without permission and when i wasnt there so i felt like i couldnt trust her anymore ...
She didn't see what she did as anything wrong so i got over it...it really isnt an issue now.
Hope this helps... :)

The 5th Amendment has to be invoked. It is untrustworthy to interfere with another's privacy. If you have a friend who does this they are untrustworthy. If it is a family member, just kick their a**. The 5th Amendment does not cover privacy, it conerns giving testimony that could be used against you as evidence.

The fifth amendment has to do about self incrimination. Your going through a diary has nothing to do with that amendment unless you are taken to court for violating the privacy of the person who owned the diary.

No, but it breaches trust and it's a rotten thing to do.
