I currently live in southern california and its just too damn expensive to live the way I want (which is not outrageous by any means). Im thinking of moving to a different state but unsure of how to go about finding the newjob/interviewing, finding a home, and unaware of which place to go to!!!

I live in greater LA county. I have a business degree and 4 years of work experience (last 2 have been in banking)..all were sales related. Where is a good place to go that has weather similar to home but where my $$ can be a nice size house (preferably in the 200k-300k range)??

You know what? Head over to http://www.craigslist.com and take a look at regions, their jobs, their lifestyles, their real estate, etc.

It's pretty easy to relocate. Just do the homework first.

The weather is one of the reasons why everything is so expensive in so cal. The first step is to find a place you would be interested in. Seattle and Tucson would be a good place to start. If you're willing to brave the cold, then Chicago and Denver would work well too.

1. Survey the area you're interested in. Take a short trip out there, drive around, and talk to the locals. If you like the city, start picking areas that you would like to live.

2. Send out your resume on monster, craigslist, and hotjobs. Try to schedule all your interviews during the same week so you can make one trip out there that's dedicated to interviews.

3. After you land the job, get an apartment in the area that's month to month. After you've settled at the job, start looking for real estate that fits your range.

Well, with that degree and your experience, you'll have no trouble finding a job...as far as the same climate and less expensive, that's a tough one. Possibly on the east coast like south carolina would fit you. 200K-300K will get you a lot more for your money there than in cali that's for sure. Check out the myrtle beach area. It's growing pretty fast. Good luck!

WELL THE THING U GOT TO DO IS RENT A UHAUL. PACK UP YOUR STUFF AND DRIVE EAST. STOP RANDOMLY AND LOOK IN THE NEWSPAPER FOR JOBS AND HOUSES FOR SALE. THATS WHAT I DID AND SO FAR IT WORKED OUT FOR ME.
