Do not look at the side of the tire for the pressure!! That number is the minimum amount of air pressure that is required to set the bead of the tire and is for use of the mechanic installing the tire. One of your answers says 20 pounds. Only put 20 pounds in if you want to pop the tire. 15 is the maximum air pressure that you should run. This number is what Yamaha recommends from the factory, whether it be a PW50 or a YZ450F. If you are actually going to race, then drop the rear pressure down to 12 pounds. This will make the tire flex more giving you more gripping area on the tire.

It depends on the terain you are riding on. In the mud and/or sand you can go to lower psi, about 12. If the area has a lot of rocks you may want to go to about 16-8 psi. If the area is hard pack maybe 14 psi,

i run 10lb to 12lb in rear. and 14lb to 16lb in front depending on terrain.
