I can't say teams like WVU or Florida who piled up on bad teams; especially not those who barely beat bad teams. Auburn beat a decent KSt. by 10, but had to pull a decent comeback, and KSt. had a shot to win at the end. Cal beat a top 15 team, but the most impressive win in my book was Georgia. I thought all the youngsters would take some time but they pretty much took care of OK St., whose offense is very good. In my book Georgia was the most impressive top 25 team in week one. Agree? Disagree?

To be honest, most of the top 25 either looked terrible or piled up against weak competition.

I think Cal was the most impressive, they beat a team that absolutely embarassed them last year in Tennessee, and they are the only team to beat a fellow top 25 team this week.

I thought OK St. would put up a much better fight. Turns out...their performance was just, "OK." Although the Dogs really did put up an impressive performance being so young, I have to disagree and say the Cal performance was the most impressive. I thought Cal would come out soft again and get their butts handed to them proving once again that the SEC is high and mighty. In fact, they look like a different team offensively from last year. DeSean Jackson, Justin Forsett, Robert Jordan, and pretty much that entire offensive line were impressive. Although their defense is still somewhat questionable, they do have a monster DE in Rulon Davis who shows tremendous promise. Watch out top 10, there's a sleeper stalking you in Berkeley, California.

Hawaii over N Colorado 63-6
Colt Brennan 34-40 416 yds 6 tds first half stats.

42-0 halftime and Devone Bess, Colt Brennan, Ryan Grice-Mullen, and Jason Rivers were in street clothes the entire second half. They forced 9 fumbles... only recovered 2 though.

2nd string offense AND defense played the entire second half. Remember this is still Hawaii who have recruited no higher than a 3 star prospect. And N Colorado didnt pass the 50 yd line until 1 min in the 3rd qrt because of a 15 yd uneccesary roughness penalty. Solid offense and defense.

I thought the Nebraska win over Nevada was very impressive. The jury is still out on how well Nevada will end up being, but was a solid team last year.

Nebraska looked solid in every aspect of the game. Their long field goal and kick off specialist was unbelievable. With 6 touchbacks. NU's offensive line was simply dominant. Depth at almost every positions looks as deep as anybody in the country.

disagree OK St. isn't that good of a team I mean they are alright but not good. I thought Oklahoma was pretty good everyone worried about their quaterback and he had an almost perfect day throwing for 363 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. OU had over 600 yards of offense when the game was over and held North Texas to only 10 points

West Virginia.

Louisville and the rest of them were beating up on I-AA teams, but Western Michigan is at least I-A and they played in a bowl game last year and are supposed to win the MAC. Also, their defense is ranked very high and WVU put up 62 on them.

How is USC going to play Appalachian St in the NC game when Appy St isn't a I-A team. Duh.

It is early to ask this question and you're right, the first week is mostly scheduled as tune-up games but I guess Louisville showed that their offense is clicking, at least against lower tiered opponents. Hawaii at the half is also clicking on all cylinders...Colt Brennan 82% completion percentage, 6 touchdowns, no INT's, and over 400 yds passing. He won't play the second half...

CAL wins week one. It was a very good game, Tenn. played with a lot of intensity and really wanted to win. The game's tempo was high all through the game! They played it like a championship game - it was fun to watch.

Georgia got a good solid win against pretty good mid level BIG-12 team, they looked good but I still give the nod to CAL, unless we want to give it to Appalachian St.?

The LSU defense getting 7 INTs was pretty sick. Even if it was against Miss. State. If you're just talking about the top 25 then Cal/Tenn was the game to watch.

I like Cal but even though LSU beat up on a team there D looked nasty, I'm watching USC right now and they look kinda rusty but I agree with Ga. they played well, I don't see them beating Fla
