Why should we feel sorry for celebrities is my question? Why don't we care about the ordinary people? I would say no because there a lot of other people out there who are going through a lot worse, and Owen is rich and famous, he probably could pay for everything he needed. Ordinary people have to struggle through everyday life, going to a job and getting a paycheck, and taking care of family or making friends. What about the homeless and the poor? We hear nothing about their troubles. I don't care about the celebrities and we need to fix our priorities. Other people are in pain too, not just the celebrities and we need to realize that.

I do. Money, and the amount of it you have, really does not alleviate suffering. Suffering is a human condition that can and will strike everyone.

Looks to me like he might feel that he is being paid way more than he is worth. Maybe he feels guilty.

A poem on fame:

The Firefly

With frantic flying through the nights
you searched among the pretty lights
to find the brightest one out there
You knew it had to be somewhere

You were driven by the fame
which would be placed upon your name
if ever you did find the one
as bright and pretty as the sun

Then in your search you saw a glow
that beckoned you from way below
You left your perch as down you flew,
down to the red and yellow hue

It was the brightest light you saw
And when you flew with utmost awe
to touch the light of yellow-red
you did not know you’d soon be dead

Now isn’t it a wicked shame
that as you touched the pretty flame,
you did not know it was a trap
and you were sizzled with a zap

Those gauzy wings you wore with grace
Which flapped and flew at break neck pace
Are burnt and battered, worn and torn
No longer can they lift your form

For those who crave the lights of lime
like the firefly in this rhyme,
Do not be blinded by the glare
and wind up in a lethal snare.

No not really, stars have enough money for anything and if they are having so much trouble and struggling wtih depression or whatever it is they can go to a doctor or a thearpist to seek help. I hate how they all act stupid and just start doing drugs or become alcoholics. What role models. I lost respect for him, I used to think he was funny and a good actor now I could care less about his movies. Why cant these stars use there brains and get help when they know they need it.

I want to add that I agree with justin also. RIGHT ON!!

I have mixed feelings about his ordeal...

Sure a good career and money can't necessarily make a person happy...though I know one that was also an actor (and aspiring to other areas of film) and never got much of the attention his work deserved, the career he was trying to have had been struggling for awhile, and when HE decided to end his life...he did not get to go home. He did not get to live through it and get another chance. So, as I said, I have mixed feelings... Especially with this guy now having this great career and hearing that he's a crack head. Why couldn't mine, this good man, get another chance?? : (

I've never liked Owen Wilson. I can't stand his crooked nose, you'd think that with all the money he makes he could get some surgery and fix it?
I do admire that he is not making a media circus of all this and is keeping quiet unlike most stars that have been in rehab or what not lately.

Yeah, I have sympathy. Something is really wrong when someone feels they should end there life.. just goes to show that money & fame really is not that great. What he needs to remember is .. people would die to be in his shoes including me. I think he'd feel better if he got that nose fixed .. he's been delaying. Everybody seen him like a smooth cat, this is going to change how people perceive him now... its sad.

I have some pretty hard opinions about the selfishness of suicide. I love Owen and I hope he gets better and returns to the silver screen. His brother told a story once of how Owen used to come over to his house and borrow clothes....this was after he made several millions..... I wish him the very best.

Lesson learned. Money does not buy happiness. I do feel bad for him because he felt like he had to do that and must be in a pretty bad state of mind. I wish him well and a speedy recovery. I hope he gets the help he needs.

Not that much. I mean he has a really great life compared to other people and that was a really stupid stunt he tried to pull. He has tons on money, a bunch of fans, a lot of hit movies, many female admirers. What could possibly be so horrible about his life that made him want to end it?!

Money has nothing to do with suicide. Poor and rich alike kill themselves every day. It's a shame when anyone does. It's a reflection on their mental health, so SURE, I have sympathy for Owen Wilson.
