1/2y + 3 = 1/6y ----> multiply all by 2 we'll get..
2y + 3 = 2/6y -----> multiply all by 6 we'll get..
12y + 18 = 2y
then,
12y - 2y +18 =0
10y +18 =0
10y = -18
y = -1.8

hope it helps...
