What does gawjus mean?...

If it's a soft "g" it may be another form of saying "jaysus," or "Jesus." That's all I can think of. Never saw or heard the word before.

If I were from the South I might say " Honey your eyes are so gawjus you should be in the movies".
It is "gorgeous" with a southern accent.
Whoever said it thinks you are beautiful.

It's an exagerated "Gorgeous" The same as "Darling" is pronounced "dahling"
