He seems to really feel sorry...for what has happened.

Let me see he threw away roughly 100 million so he could engage in the so called thug life. I am sure he is extremely sorry about that and that he has given up his freedom, not to mention his already shaky credibility. Again I am certain he is sorry about that. Do I feel sorry for him? Not in the least! Athletes once they begin to exhibit their abilities are coddled and protected from reality. Some learn to adjust in spite of their lack of real world experience. Others like Vick never get past the idea that their unique abilities exempt them from the consequences of their behavior. This may or may not be racially motivated, but to play the "race card" every single time a black man (or woman) does something embarrassing, foolish, or illegal has got to stop that slipped over the border of ridiculous long ago

Hey advancamp, you are partially right but it seems as though when a small group protest something the media and white people act as though they are speaking for the whole race. I am black and I feel as though Michael Vick should be given the max sentence allowable by law. My reason is he is a role model and represent everything that is wrong with this society. I also don't care how remorseful he is because the only thing that he seemed to care about was the money he was making off of dog fighting.

Princess, don't be so gullible. What did you expect him to say? "Michael Vick can't wait to get back to dogfighting, and man, you should have heard those dogs yelp when we hung em, but they were pretty weak when we stuck their heads in the buckets of water to finish em off, that wasn't as satisfying as the hangings"

Be real. He referred to his actions as "immature". Which means childish. How many children do you know whose mischevious actions include drowning and hanging dogs? His PR firm should have used the thesarus to come up with another adjective to describe his sick and sadistic behavior.

His sheepish demeanor and comment about he needs to grow up, was designed to do exactly what you are doing now, feeling sorry for him like he is a 27 year old child. If Michael Vick is still a child at 27, then that makes him retarded.

As for his finding 'Jesus', well, Jesus must be hiding under the judge's robes in every courtroom, because practically every convicted felon facing sentencing finds 'Jesus'.One very good indication that Vick''s mea culpa is full of empty promises is that he has been a “man of God” for quite sometime. He did not suddenly “find Jesus.” Vick has had at least seven quotations since 1998 where he thanked God or invoked his faith as the reason for his success. In 2005 he responded to criticisms by saying, "I''m trying to be Michael Vick, the quarterback God made me to be." In 2004 he told the Macon Telegraph, "I wake up every day and I thank God." In a 2001 interview after he was a first-round draft pick, Vick told ESPN, "The Lord has blessed me. I have to thank Him for all this."

So, Vick is not new to the idea of Jesus. He supposedly knew Jesus when he was committing the crime of dogfighting. He knew Jesus when he was brutally killed dogs. And, he knew Jesus when he lied about his activities. So when Michael Vick said, "I need to redeem myself," what he really could have been saying is, “I need to get myself out of this at all costs.” And, he''s using religion to do it.

The man has lied from the beginning, to the public, to Roger Goodell, to Arthur Blank. When the dogs were first found on his property he said he NEVER goes there and he threw his cousin under the bus when he said 'family members live in that house and they haven't been doing the right thing'. Imagine how his cousin felt when Vick laid the blame on him. He then said he would 'clear his good name'. What makes you think that now, as he is caught and has to face the music, that what he says at this point is 'truth'?

Come on Princess, don't be so gullible.

I do not feel sorry for him just like I do not feel sorry for the people who admit that they were wrong for shop-lifting, steeling a car, molesting a child, or dealing drugs. He knew what he was doing was wrong. How can you feel sorry for a guy like that? I am just glad that some justice is being served to Michael Vick.

Think of it this way: If he was twelve years old, and he drown a dog, he would go for immeadiate psyco-therapy so he wouldn't become a serial killer.

That is some sick s**t. Close your eyes and try to imagine, you, yourself killing a dog that way. Think of the dog trusting you, his owner, then think of him struggling for air, kicking his legs trying to get his head above the water, and you just watch as his lungs fill with water and his eyes bug out of his head.

No, one thing I do not feel, is 'sorry' for Mike Vick.

I feel really sorry for him... it's unfortunate that he got himself caught up in the whole thing... i think people are taking this matter way too seriously too... I can't believe people would even put dogfighting in the same category as armed robbery or other felonies... there still just dogs... animals... like the ones most people eat everyday... I still think dogfighting is inhumane but still not a felony type crime... and as for him killing the under performing dogs: he really didn't have a choice... it's not like someone could have kept em as a house pet....

BY THE WAY IM WHITE!!!!! whoever said this is a race deal is a ****** idiot... if anything it's a southern thing

I don't feel sorry for Vick. I think for part of his punishment, the money he has earned playing football should to the humane society, SPCA, and he should get a job there and not get paid for it.

ya really think he regretted the last 5 years of running his dogfighting ring? Ya think he regretted his Ron Mexico exploits? If your answer to either of these questions is yes then I have some swamp land in Florida to sell you.
