You need to cut back on your course work. At least the time spent studying and fretting about grades. Same thing happened to me.

Sounds like you might have IBS, which is can sometimes be triggered by stress.
I'm 20, and I have ibs, it sucks, because when I'm nervous or stressed, I get diarrhea, it makes it very hard to do anything, because I also have social anxiety disorder, and I usually have panic attacks when I'm in public, the panic attacks trigger the ibs.
What I do, is watch what I eat, and I keep my mind busy so that my nerves don't trigger the ibs...Try to relax as much as possible.
Look up IBS, see if you relate to the symptoms, and if so, then talk to your doctor, there are several medications that help.
I hope I've helped a lil bit, because I know what you're going through. Good luck!

You need to be evaluated for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). And if you aren't getting any answers from your Doctor, or feel that they are being dismissive you have the right to find another one. Also, it sounds like you may be suffering from some anxiety. Lastly, don't try to compare yourself with your friends. Everyone is different, and that does not make you stupid or slow. We all excel at different things, in different ways. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I would take just a normal load, and if you feel that you can handle more do it next semester. But in the meantime, get new Doctors.
and here is a link to explain more about IBS
