Of course they do. They have pre-planned scenarios for virtually any situation that could become volatile around the world. It in no way implies that an attack is iminent, the pentagon has been doing it for years. They do this in the event that we discover a nuclear weapons program in Iran, or we see an overt act that puts our country in danger. These plans are in place so the President and congress can make a quick decision should a situation arise.

The Pentagon has many plans, most of them don't get executed. But big time Libs like you lambaste the Pentagon for not having a sufficient plan to secure the country after ousting Saddam Hussein.

Like it or not, having such plans is necessary. Even when Bush is gone in 16-17 months, the next POTUS may still have to deal with an Iranian attack against us.

uh dear it is the PENTAGON and it's duties is to provide solutions to possible scenarios of combat and war plans.
whenever i get overwhelmed with the sheer stupidity of some people and the 'questions' in this category, i go to the joke and riddle section for a little mental escape, you should try it and maybe get some perspective on life in general or take a real vacation if you can afford it.

I hope they learn from iraqi situation,anyway,i think USA will not go against Iran alone,but the problem no one will help USA in the next war,even UK will refuse to do it,the UN will not support a war against Iran,because there is china and Russian,they will use Vito against any decision to fight iran,
in the other side,iran its not iraq,military,the us troops they will have a lot of jobs if they try a war against iran,
i see for usa,its hard to start a new war,as you see,they still loosing the iraqi war,but i think bush is crazy,and he may do it,but if he is intelligent he will forget about iran
