...back in about 1988 I bought at least a dozen Frank Zappa CD's, a sh*t load of Jethro Tull CD's, some Alice Cooper, Deep Purple etc, a few months before I even owned a CD player!
They came in a silly 10 inch long cardboard package at that time. I saved the packaging for the artwork, and still have them in a box somewhere.
A fellow I worked with sold me his Mitsubishi CD player for $150.00, and that was a good deal, considering a new cheap player was several hundred at the time. He threw in XTC's 'Drums and Wires' as a bonus!
What was your 1st CD??

Toto/Hydra I still listen to it and I have had it for over 20 years, I also bought the Eurythmics/Revenge at the same time. I was in Japan and the player I got was brand spanking new for about $100 but the yen/$ rate was favorable and it was a good deal. After that I bought a slew of other ones almost every week, but theose were my first ones. I still have both.

The first CD I ever bought was Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" in '87 or '88 and I paid $500 for the CD player to listen to the damn thing! Man, I hate new technology! Gotta replace eleventy million records with cassettes, then cassettes with CDs, then CDs with iPods; jeez, what's next?! Gotta admit, I love my iPod, though.

The first CD I ever got was TLC's CrazySexyCool...loved it. I had bought it on tape first then got on CD. My cousin and I used to play it all the time...I remember when Alainis Morissette came out with Jagged Little Pill and we played the mess out of that one too...These days my taste in music is quite a bit different but I guess that comes with age...

My first CD was in '93. Had my first "real" grown-up job and my own money. That said my first CD was Kenny G's Breathless. I haven't heard it in years tho. I got into real rock when I met my husband in '95.
