I know he is a good guy, but his matches kinda suck.

Gunner, I was a tennis fan before you were born. McEnroe, Conners, Navratilova and Evert were still in their prime when I started watching. So boy please don't question my being a fan because I don't like a particular player's game. You're dismissed.

I agree. His matches take forever and then he cramps up.

What are you talking about? James Blake is one of the most respectable players on tour, and he can't help his cramping up. He's one of the toughest players that ever played the game, do you even know his history? First, he was diagnosed with a back problem and the doctor told him he would never be able to walk properly ever again let alone play a sport. That's why his back is so straight, because he wore a back brace as a kid. Then, when he actually did make the tour, he went for a drop shot and fell head-first into the net pole, severely injuring his neck. I think he had some sort of cancer too, that's why he lost all of his hair, he used to have a ton of it. I don't know how you can say his matches suck, he's one of the most exciting players to watch on tour. If you're a real fan like me, you can't just watch a couple of matches and dub the guy annoying.

No, I don't think that James Blake is an annoying player to watch. I've truly enjoyed watching him over the Summer and the way his game has gotten better. And his match against Santoro was amazing. After I watched it I thought, "Wow, this is going to be an instant classic". And about two days afterward some of the commentators felt the same way because it has taken James so long to finally win his first ever 5 set match in a Grand Slam.

I also love to watch him because he shows such courage after all he has been thru the past several years, especially losing his dad to cancer about 2 years ago.

I actually think that Blake is one of the most exiting and explosive players out there and I tend to find his matches much more exciting than people like Roddick. He may not be as consistent as some of the other players, but he can definately put on a show. Blake and Nadal are the two most exciting players to me while Federer, even though he's the best is the most boring to watch.

Blake is one of the more exciting players on the tour. You must be thinking of all the annoying cookie-cutter Eastern Euros with their Chris Evert backhands and baseline junior games.

Those guys are so boring I can't even tell their games apart when I watch them play. They need name tags or something.

It's just you. Blake is an awesome, hardworking player. He is not annoying at all. Yes, his matches can reach the limit of waiting and watching but it's always enjoying to watch his game.

You say it for James Blake...I think most of these guys play monotonous baseline tennis....so those hard-to-get passes become really hard to see....in today's baseline tennis.....But i loved James' match against Fabrice Santoro coz I got to see some of the spectacular passes from Santoro......

This match is boring, but the Santoro match was amazing - mainly due to Santoro though.

Blake matches up well against baseline hitters like Djokovic and Nadal, but not so good against Federer and Roddick.
