Ok, I just got hired 2 weeks ago at this place, Zpizza. It wasn't my first choice, but I just needed a job and my friend got a job there so I applied and got hired.

Well, I applied for this other place a month ago, Harris Teeter, but I didn't get hired. It was my first choice since it pays better and I get more hours. Well on thursday I was there since I delivered some pizza over there, chatted them up, and they offered me a job.

Should I leave my current job? This new job would pay an extra $2.50/hour ($9.50/hour vs $7/hour). Also, I like my current job, but I'm only getting 15 hours a week and my friend who works there is driving me ABSOLUTELY INSANE. She is way too bossy and she isn't even above me in rankings. We have the same position.

Would it look bad to quit after 2 weeks? If you think I should quit, what should I tell my managers when I put in my 2 weeks notics.

Yes, quit. Just tell your manager your situation - I'm sure he or she would also leave for more money...most would. Be honest, respectful and kind - don't burn any bridges.

I'd leave out the part about your friend since it really isn't relevant to the situation. Just kindly tell your boss that you've been offered a new job with better pay and more hours. Also, make sure to let them know that you'll be willing to assist in the training of your replacement since you're offering two weeks notice.

Be mature - you'll be just fine. Good luck at your new job!

First off, make SURE from the other boss that he/she is going to hire you before you go and quit the job that you have now. IF they are going to hire you, then tell the new boss that you are going to have to give the other boss a 2 week notice that you are going to quit. Then once you have done that, tell your boss that you have now that you are giving him/her your 2 week notice. That you applied for another job before you applied for this one and they have now called you. And that you will be getting more hours and more money. Don't say any thing about your friends either.

On a last note: No it does not look good to work at a job just for a little while and quit.

No, it would not look bad, staff come and go on a daily basis in these places. Yes, you should quit, tell your boss that you are leaving for a job with better pay or that it has better prospects. You are not actually obliged to tell him your reasons, and he may not even ask. Good luck with the new job.

It's OK to quit. You don't have to give a reason - if you want to, just tell them you got a much better offer from someplace you had applied to before you accepted their job - that's true, and you don't have to go into all the details about talking to them while you were delivering a pizza.

Make sure the main boss at the new place hires you.Otherwise you may not have the job. If you're sure, then by all means be honest & tell them.Or ask your current boss if he or she can give you more pay & hrs.because you don't really want to change.See what happens. You've been told no before.GOOD LUCK.

before ending up eith a decision. try to ask yourself your reasons of leaving (for real)

is it just the dough? or its the pay, the growth with the company and the working environment?

about quitting, its totally understandable if you get it straight with your current job that you choose the other for some reasons.

That's okay as long as you give them two weeks notice. What is important is that they have reasonable notice to replace you. A hard worker like you deserves to have the first choice!
