If the investigation doesn't have anything to do with her, then why all this hesitation??? Can't take the time off work? Common. Police stations operate 24/7.
She needs to bring her a*ss down there ASAP. Or she knows very well what will happen.
She needs to call the station first and verify that the call in fact came from there.

I used to work as a maintenance man at a motel some years ago, and a day or two after I had quit, somebody broke into their storage shed and stole all their equipment, the police called and asked me to come to the station to discuss a matter with them, I had no idea what it was about prior to going, but I went.
So, yes they can, and do call people and ask them to come to the station, If she does not go and they really want to talk to her, they will just come to her! If it is REALLY important, and she avoids them altogether, they could even slap her with an "Obstruction of Justice" charge.
I am sure they would be willing to schedule a meeting after she got done working. Besides, if she has done nothing wrong, what would she have to worry about?

uhmm, that's VERY odd.
Usually a unit would be dispatched TO the person and the person would be picked up and brought to the stationhouse for questioning. This would eliminate the possibility of the person not showing up.
I would start by calling back the station and verifying that the call did in fact come from THERE. Does she have the name of the officer that called? Does she actually HAVE details about this alleged investigation?
More info is needed... and ideally, an APPOINTMENT should be made if it IS necessary for her to take time off work. Also, the officer should be asked for a written statement to take back to your friend's employer verifying that the friend's time off work was justifiable. (even if the employer is cool with it, I would ask for written verification ANYWAY.)

I advise that the top decrease for contributions be finished away with, and that the optimum payouts in retirement nevertheless stay as they are, adjusted for inflation. Social protection isn't a "supply away" software yet one which all of us contribute to love a fee reductions plan, and may well be secure against different makes use of by the government. Do you compromise or disagree and why? while you're so stressful approximately it then why do not you; first placed it lower back into the internal maximum sector and make to have been no can take out money from it for his or her very own pastime, 2d pay lower back each penny you have borrowed from the two Social protection and Medicare, third take the unlawful immigrants off of it and people who come over here yet in no way paid a penny to it, and finally have it the comparable for each individual; in different words government officers are to take area in it and in the event that they like something greater they do it on their very own without the tax payers investment it?yet, the economic stytem feeding the imbalances had in no way been extremely replaced. They, a team of scholars, stated that each and every physique expenses of pastime could be 3% or much less for each individual to grow to be rich if wanted (that could desire to be actual additionally to taces). the suitable economic project could be, they reported, while there have been no expenses of pastime. Why not attempt this answer? the rich could nevertheless be rich. My question is: while soial protection turns right into a difficulty related to federal money owed, why not artwork with a balanced or earnings funds and spend no greater effective than is provided in, as any kin has to try for? Why not ban all loobying presents with the intention to get regulations that serve the rustic? God bless usa.

they call all the time. not really, but they do call a lot. it may be a lot more convenient for both the police officer and the person they want to interview to meet at the station, or some other government building. I doubt the police officer TOLD her to come to the station. he probably ASKED her to come, so he would not have to bother her at work. she can probably call back and schedule a time on her lunch break, or have the police officer meet her at a local restaurant or somewhere.
A lot of time this is to avoid embarrassing a subject. If a cop walks in and tells the receptionist he needs to see Suzie Smith, everybody starts wondering what Suzie Smith did.
And in smaller towns, they will sometimes call a person and tell him or her to come down to the station to be arrested

When I had a criminal defense practice, I used to tell people who called with that kind of question to say this: "I unequivocally state that I want counsel to be present during any questioning." And say nothing else. The hardest thing to do was to put the toothpaste back in the tube (so to speak if they talked to police without me or another attorney there)

She'd better ask an experience criminal lawyer what to do.
Unless a lawyer says it's ok AND will be present during questioning, talking to the po-po is a no-no!

She has NO obligation to go. They cannot forcer her to talk to them. If she is concerned, she should see an attorney. If she is arrested, she should not speak AT ALL or TO ANYONE. The only words she should say are "I want an attorney now". Literally, she should say NOTHING ELSE.
