Not really. The man's life is never in danger while carrying a child. Ever. No matter what.

However, I do think he should get the opportunity to pick the middle name. He is also at liberty to provide suggestions for first names. Ultimately, it's my hand on the pen.

My guyfriend would argue that of course his life is in danger if the woman was in a hormonal angry state. Pots can maim.

I think you should both agree on the name. That is what my husband and I did. Its not only selfish but don't you think its part of a partnership to compromise?

I would think so.

My partner used to say "you name the girls, I'll name the boys" and that was fine until I realized we might just have all boys. So I changed the rules and said next baby I get to name, whether it's a boy or a girl.

Naming the children should be a joint endeavor....not just the job of 1 parent. One of you didn't make the baby, so naming it shouldn't be a solo deal either.

ummm I believe that both parents should agree on the name since the child belongs to both..trust me when the baby gets older and your trying to do something and the baby needs something at the same time and the dad is watching the game you'll be screaming out "its your kid too" LOL

We compromise by one of us picking a first name and the othera middle name.
Then we take turns who gets to pick which!!

We ended up discussing names more closely, and always deciding (and agreeing) on what we liked.

yeah. Both parents should talk about the names together and settle for a name that they both are happy with.

The two parents should discuss what they want to name their children together. You know, don't pick names one hates even if the other one loves it. Compromise. x3

Yeah, I suppose. But if you're the one having the baby and you don't like the names the father picks out, you have the last say.
