Most states are At Will states. That means they don't have to give a reason at all to fire you. Go find another job.

I used to manage McDonalds. We were so desperate for workers that I hardly ever fired anyone. And when you fire someone, they may be eligible for unemployment, so McDs tells their managers to try to avoid firing people.

The times that I fired someone or saw someone fired were because of:

1) Not showing up for work or showing up chronically late - not showing up is the number one reason for firing people at McDs.
2) Stealing
3) Gross insubordination or behavioral problems: fist fights with other employees, cussing out a manager, gross rudeness to a customer etc.

Most times, we didn't fire people. We just cut their hours way back - to like 2 hours per week. Then the people end up quitting and McDs is off the hook.

If I had to guess, I'd say that McDs is still pretty desperate for employees. It really takes pretty much to get fired from there.
