Space is empty nothingness so it'd be black as the night sky. (- the light pollution)
Technically using your eyesight...nothingness is black because that means there is no light to show you what is there. But if there was light there would be something there...the light and the source of the light.


But thats just using 1 of our senses. You should ask yourself what does nothing feel like.

I've actually thought long and hard about this question. I thought that if God or whatever you think put us here, didn't make us, then where would we be? No where. No one would see anything, nothing would be around us, there would be no thoughts, ideas or life. It's hard to think, but when you mind does get into that kind of idea, it feels weird. Try it sometime.

i read somewhere that darkness does not really exist because it merely relates to absence or presence of light. light also somehow connotes heat or warmth, hence, also coldness of darkness. there was also a civilization ( forgot which one ) that did not have a symbol or word for zero. its very hard to imagine nothingness because we always relate it to something concrete or material. but if one could, it would probably be total nothingness or non-existence, not even darkness, because it is totally unconnected to anything.
