Yes, but they may charge an "extra hauling" fee.

Like the others said, it depends on where you live and on your garbage company. Some places will just take it, no questions asked. Others might require you to call and ask for them to pick it up.
I would try to put a "free" sign on it first, and then take them to goodwill or the salvation army instead of throwing them away. If they wont take the stuff, then throw it away as a last resort.

Usually they will if it's not too big but in my personal experience someone always beats the garbage man to it anyway.
Like they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm sure someone will put it to good use.
Go ahead and leave it on the curb friend.

Most trash companies have a special number to call for big trash pick ups. They will schedule a day for the items to be removed. If you trash company doesn't have this service, you city probably does to prevent dumping.

If you put them in your front yard or on your curb with a sign that says "Free!" I can assure you someone will take them. Or you could give them away on freecycle.org that way they don't end up in a landfill.

Call ahead of time to see if they will. If not, put a "FREE" sign on them, & maybe someone will want them or someone will use them for firewood.
