Wel actually, I've been told by people that I have a British accent although I've never been to Europe in my life! The thing, is, I can't quite say my R's so that must be it. None the less, I like my voice quite a bit. I wouldn't switch it or take speech classes unless you paid me! Its funny, cuz I do a lot of singing performances (church, school, community center, talent shows, etc...) so people are always like you have such a cool voice when you sing! Well sorry, here I am rambling like a madwoman! Hope you enjoyed my little speech! Haha! ♥♪♫Keira♫♪♥

I have traveled all across the United States. The whole country is divided in to regions according to speech accents. Mines mid Westerns with a dash of southern accent.
Great Question ...

Yes.
I was born and raised in NY, until I was 9. Moved to TN where I have pretty much lived since except for a little while in HI. Plus, I was taught to speak by my Gramma who's first language was French. So, I mispronounce many words with a slightly French accent, talk way too quickly at times and sound very "Southern" through it all. Actually, one of my good friends told me I sound like a Hillbilly who has overdosed on caffeine while listening to Cabaret Music. Some friend -- huh?! Sad part is even I think he is right.
Peace.

actually to have an accent English would have to be your second language. Southern, Australian, and English "accents" are actually just different dialects of English. For example if you were raised French and learned English later in life you would have a French accent. So I would say that most people who think they have accents would be mistaken. I myself have an English accent when I speak Spanish.

I don't think anyone notices they have an accent. Everyone says that we (in the South) have accents, but we don't notice it because we're around each other every day. If someone from the North came down here, to Louisiana, we'd notcie their accent, just like they'd notice ours.

well im from michigan and we don't say words differently so I guess not. But when I go down in the South they say I have an accent so wherever you lived will depend on your voice and people will tell you, you have one if you go some place else

Some people say no others claim I have a Hispanic New Yorker accent. I speak proper English by the way, the "hood" never got to me.

depends where you come from, doesn't matter what country, all the different parts speak with accents. I know I have a recognised accent as I moved from England to Australia, but my accent's different to another English Person, so we all have accents :)

I have a Chicago accent mixed with a little bit of Canadian. When I'm flustered, I have a Southern accent.
