That would be messed up! I'm single with no kids right now, but I plan on naming my kid after the singer Aaliyah, & other people named their kids that, too. People tell me if I decide to name my kid that, he'd have the right to cheat on me.

Oh, God. That's terrible. Before consoling her, you need to assess what kind of person she is. Is she the kind of person who thrives off of sympathy? Or, is she the person who HATES sympathy? If she doesn't mind the sympathy, you should make sure she knows that you're sorry for her. That things do happen for a reason, however vague and unknown that reason may be right now. She seems to be putting up a pretty tough front, so it may be that she doesn't want the sympathy. Some people are like that; they don't want people to look at them with pity. It makes them feel pathetic. If that's the case, just support her. Say that you're sorry for her situation, not sorry for her. Say that you're there to talk but you won't push the matter. And, remember, this woman was married to this man for almost a decade. She loves him. So, whatever you do, don't put him down. She might go through a stage where every word out of her mouth is a negative comment towards him. But, you shouldn't ever be the one to talk trash. You can agree with her or listen to her. But, the fact of the matter is it'll hurt her later when she's alone to think about the bad things said about him. She'll never be able to heal and move on if her time is spent feeling guilty, feeling at fault, or feeling pitied. Just be a friend; that's all you really can do.

first of all no man or woman ever has a right or a good reason to cheat,just an excuse.second if a man ever cheated on you,he's not worth your time.third,especially not for something over a name.besides Aaliyah is a beautiful name.

Absolutely not. How could that POSSIBLY give him the right? First of all, Aaliyah is a beautiful name, and even if it wasn't he'd need a much better reason than that to earn the right to cheat on you.

Nothing gives a spouse the right to cheat. IF they are so unhappy, they should leave and get a divorce.
Of course, I think something as important as naming a child should be a decision the couple makes together...

The 1 rule to remember when naming your child , is that it isnt you who has to sit through school and be teased , punched into and flushed down the toilet , you might like certain name's but naming them after your fave rock and roll wrestling star , singer , musician , actor , artist , but why torment your poor innocent child with such riff raff seriously.
Naming a child isnt a game , and as much as I would say no to any cheating be allowed , well if you were going to be inconsiderate and brainless then yeah you'd deserve what ever come , but then nothing stopping your man filing the child birth certificate and changing the name without you knowing either so better be keeping those forms close to your freshly milk filled bossum's huh.

name your child whatever you see fit. but keep in mind that this child will have to go through elementary school with the name that you choose. Aaliyah is a pretty name. the name means chosen one. or child of God something like that. GodBless

Nothing would ever "Give someone the RIGHT" to cheat on you. You have to respect yourself. What you name your child has nothing to do with a man cheating on you/leaving you.

Well hopefully you'll find someone who is not as shallow as to say something like that in the first place. If that is used as an excuse, sounds like he is just looking for a reason. No one has a right to hurt another, but it happens every day. Just don't put yourself in that position, there are plenty of people in this world and you'll find the perfect one for you, who will love you for you and not what you name your child.

When you grow up you will realize that naming a kid after a celebrity is dumb.
Regardless, it wouldnt give him the right to cheat on you anyways. Thats silly too.
